9 Pictures of Snooki Wearing a Neck Brace
While filming America’s cartoonish depiction of Italians in Italy, Snooki crashed her car. Into her own police escort. And if that wasn’t entertaining enough, she then appeared on the streets wearing a neck brace. Here are those pictures — as well as some pictures we had fun making in Photoshop.

Foo Fighters: Back and Forth

When the rest of the world was watching the Royal Wedding and having a moment with Will and Kate, I had a moment myself.  In a suburban cinema with approximately 200 other people, I watched a documentary about the Foo Fighters called Back and Forth.

It’s no secret that the Foo Fighters have been one of my favourite bands over the years and getting up close and personal and learning all about them from their roots to now was an exciting prospect for me.

The documentary started noting Dave Grohl’s roots to his former band Nirvana.  It paid homage to what was a great band that probably ended prematurely.  Incidentally the Dave Grohl started what was to become a revolving door of band members with other musicians (William Goldsmith and Pat Smear) who were also part of great bands that had split prematurely.  What really captured me was the fact that these founding Foo Fighters members were unable to speak about their former bands in a way that some people can’t speak openly about former relationships.  Even now it seems like it’s hard for Dave Grohl to speak about Nirvana as I think it’s pretty safe to say the end of that band in particular was incredibly tragic.

What really stuck out to me was how incredible of a musician and how much of a perfectionist Dave Grohl is.  He recorded the entire debut album playing all the instruments himself and when he drafted members in to join the Foo Fighters he absolutely ensured that they were as much of a perfect part of the band as each other.  This lead to drummer William Goldsmith being replaced with current drummer Taylor Hawkins after Grohl himself played the drums for the recording of the second album “The Colour and the Shape”.

The documentary then follows the band through the highs and lows of touring and the making of their following albums to date including the incredible current album “Wasting Light”.  What’s amazing about “Wasting Light” was the return to the backyard recording studio and the purity of recording a rock album without any form of digital enhancement.  The recording of “Wasting Light” happened at Grohl’s house amongst his family and friends and it was almost somewhat touching to see.  The band members were recording an incredible rock album with their children tapping them on the shoulders just like every day people.

The audience were then treated to a live 3D performance of the album “Wasting Light” which was a little weird however has managed to cement in my mind that the Foo Fighters are one of the greatest bands of my time.  Their performance of the song “These Days” blew my mind!!! I’m hanging for a full blown Aussie tour now seeing as I didn’t manage to score tickets to the Wasting Light on the Harbour gig in Sydney last month!!!

What really struck me though was how captivated the audience was throughout the whole documentary and live performance and how the Foo Fighters managed to leave pretty much all of us gagging for more.
